Our licensed tour guide will meet you at the meeting point hotel Ganges Grand and then walk with you towards the Ganga Aarati Ghat Dashashwamedh Ghat. The guide will help you to arrange your sitting spot from where you can watch the evening Aarati. The ghat is fully crowded at the time of Aarati so its advisable to book your tour in advance and arrive on time. The evening Ganga aarati is performed by 7 Brahmins at Dashashwamedh and 5 Brahmins at Prayag Ghat next to it everyday with sometimes live music performance along with the chants of Mantras dedicated to mother Ganga.
The priest sings the song Jai Jai Bhagirathi Nandini ……. which literally means . O daughter of Bhagirath! (name of a king who brought the Ganges down from heaven to earth by his austerities.)Glory, all glory to you. You are like the moonbeams for the chakors (a type of partridge traditionally supposed to live on moonbeams) of numerous sages. Humans, serpents and gods pray to you.
After the Arati the guide will drop you off at the meeting point location or you can discuss together for the better according to your ease.
